S&P MidCap 400/Citigroup Value Index
The S&P MidCap 400/Citigroup Value Index is designed to provide a
comprehensive measure of mid-cap U.S. equity "value" performance. It is
an unmanaged float adjusted market capitalization weighted index
comprised of stocks representing approximately half the market
capitalization of the S&P MidCap 400 Index that have been
identified as being on the value end of the growth-value spectrum. It
is not possible to invest directly in an index.
Standard
& Poor's (S&P) changed both the names and the way it calculates
its U.S. S&P/BARRA Growth and Value Indexes. The changes took
effect with the close of the New York Stock Exchange on December 16,
2005. Subsequently, the S&P MidCap 400/BARRA Value Index was
renamed to the S&P MidCap 400/Citigroup Value Index. Learn more.
